To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Judy Xiong. I want to express my sincerest thanks to Mary Martha’s for the assistance they provided in my time of need. I am not sure how I would have made it thru a very trying time without their assistance.
My family is from the Tulsa area, and of Korean descent. I lived at home with my family. My boyfriend of the time is African-American. Unfortunately, I got pregnant. My father, being very old fashion, told me I would have move out, and he would not provide any assistance to me.
To make matters worse, my boyfriend left me. I now had to find a place to live, pay all the upfront expenses, and have a baby! My insurance plan is not the best, and I work retail, so I do not have much. On top of all this, I had a difficult pregnancy, and my baby was born early.
I was not sure what I was going to do. Because of the difficulty of the pregnancy, I had to take time off work, unpaid. I was then bed ridden, and then in the hospital. I spent everything I had just trying to get a place to live, and I did not know what I would be bringing my baby home to.
I am so glad someone at work contacted Mary Martha’s. They provided me with the basic necessities for my new baby. So, instead of coming home to nothing, I was able to give my baby the things needed.
Thank you Mary Martha’s. I do not know where I would be without your help. Sincerely,
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Jennifer Vinson. I am a single mother with three boys. When we lost our home and personal belongings to a fire on April 1st, we were devastated to say the least. A friend and her husband knew of your Mission and went and picked up items for my boys and myself. I can’t tell you how much you helped us. The boys were super stoked about the new futon’s, my dresser and Queen mattress set are amazing, the couch and chair, bedding, dishes, towels, shower rod and curtain, were all pieces to our new beginning. I don’t think words can express how thankful and grateful we are for everything you did to help us start over. We have been so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family, and we have been blessed by your organization. I pray that God continues to allow you to keep blessing others.
With sincere appreciation,
Dear people of Mary Martha's,
Thank you so much for all that was given to my friends after July's floods. At first it was so bleak for them as all seemed lost.
So Mary Martha's opened her doors on July 4th and they left with a bedroom & living room with drawers, clothing and hangers even! Others gave too—meals, makeup, medicine and cleaning supplies as they were able to rescue some important items from the muck.
The generosity from the community in their donations & of your organization has been beautiful. It all has been such a lift for them as they have found a nice place for the 6 of them. Your help—so promptly, when things looked darkest for them really made it okay. They could see—as they set up in the temporary quarters—that they could make it, a set-back, not insurmountable.
A Client For Two Years
Attaining to our needs for those with very limited incomes. This is a clear picture of what Mary Martha stands for.
It's a clean environment with everything being presented to us in a pleasant, organized way, making it a pleasant visit for all of us. Considering the large number of people that it served, it does an outstanding job.
The rules are enforced but handled in a very polite manner. If anything, we should all get in line and say Thank You for providing us with this place.
Now the staff. They are all friendly & warm. I sincerely believe they want to not only serve us but to help us in areas that they can help and are able to.
In the reception area it's always both business yet friendly. If you have questions or concerns they respond to helping us.
In the clothing room its the same. They're willing to guide you to finding what you need.
It's a good place for people to contribute to, for it is distributed to us in an organized and hospitable manner.
Last but not least they decorate the waiting room. It's a good healthy feeling.
Limited income people have needs. Now that gas prices are sky high and our utilities take a major part of our income. It always helps us out … I speak not just for myself but for others.
Appreciate and thank you.
